Sometimes a canvas cries out for outlining or definition.  Anytime there is “shape” that I want to define, wrapped backstitch or wrapped chain stitch come to mind.  Wrapped stitches can be done in very fine lines using a single strand of floss or silk, or can be as bulky as bark on a tree trunk by wrapping very velvet with perle cotton, then there are those objects that need to be defined with sparkle, and the list goes on.  Enjoy a try at wrapped outline stitches.
